The #cookbook stood as a simple, spiral-bound revelation when Habib-Kirske’s mother, Madelain Farah, first #SelfPublished it in 1972, fulfilling orders by mail herself (with young Habib-Kirske’s help). Back then, #recipes for the likes of hummus, tabbouleh & ful imdammas (falafel) weren’t easy to find & “ #Lebanese#Cuisine” became a treasured underground classic to #cooks from #Lebanon, other parts of the #MiddleEast & far beyond.

@SJHoodlet@johnhowesauthor@crcollins Author friend Bernard Schaffer points out that it's only self-/indie publishing that gets a bad rap. Indie art? People want it. Indie music? The want is downright RABID. The only reason any of us indie writers feel second-class is because trad publishing has programmed us to feel that way.
@tannat@bookstodon Unfortunately, if you're #SelfPublished there can be a considerable expense involved if you want to make a novel available on different platforms. Something difficult to justify if you're a new author only selling a handful of books.
