We need a new #mattress, having got almost 2 decades out of the current one. What is the point in #bed#shops#selling online things you can't try in the #store? Today we were told (#instore) that "that one is #online only". If we can't test it out for 5 minutes we can't buy it. Do people really buy something that needs to last 5-years plus without even touching one? Haven't got the time or patience to risk a #returnable one.
ACR identifies what's displayed on your television, including content served through a cable TV box, streaming service, or game console, by continuously grabbing... https://jwz.org/b/ykHC
The "Does factory reset really clear everything these days?" thing is one I've wondered about.
I also presume that the TV #manufacturers, who are starting to earn more #money from #surveilling users' watching habits and selling the data to the ad giants than they do from #selling the #hardware, will be putting in LTE/5G modems that aren't exposed to the user, so the sets have network connections without relying on the user to provide it.
Also. Not today surprised that #twitter was the source of the match. As you observed, it's a dating app too. I (and others, I'm sure) have noted that any app that functionally replicates the #publicsphere in some way will allow for those things that took place within it
nothing makes me more insane than the phrase "selling your body" btw. like was i not also #selling my #body at every other #job i've had where i had to be on my feet all day, lifting boxes, #working in a warehouse, etc. why is it that sex #work is uniquely labeled as "selling your body" while every other job is sorted into another category, no matter how much that job might have a physical impact on your body. lmao.
Anyone interested in a used black #Huawei P30 Lite Smartphone in excellent condition for 99€? 🤔 blue/cyan leather case included. #sale#selling#smartphone
Sending from 🇪🇺 🇩🇪. Could go a little bit lower if you're tight on budget, but not too much (also need it 🙃).
I'm going to have a bit of a #tech#rant (less charitable people might say #whine) here. If you just want jokes and cute bunny pictures, feel free to skip this one.
Object of my #ire this week? #Furnaces. I'm not even going to rant about their main control boards; most of that's been said better than I could say it, by others with more knowledge than I.
So of course each furnace line has a different (in my case) #Rheem#part#number for the motor, even though all of them are actually the same 1/2 HP GE motor and controller -- they've just had different #settings "blown" into them.
And if you try to use the "wrong" motor from another furnace, the control board says "no way!" and won't work.
So Rheem gets to keep #selling#parts that are #exclusive only to them, and only for one model of furnace, so they're stupidly #expensive.
Techies: Anyways... #Facebook started doing the same thing. They showed an #excerpt, and #linked back to your sites. So lots and lots and lots more people visited your websites than you were getting before.
So there's an aspect of this Supreme Court case on "refusing service on first amendment grounds" that seems particularly complicated. I think it's worthwhile to choose a different example that would perhaps fall into the same kind of situation for analysis. This leaves aside the questions about standing and such that have been raised in the existing case.
Let's say you have a Muslim voice over artist who promotes their services. A member of a protected class comes to them and wants them to produce a series of anti-Muslim ad spots, which would require the voice over artist to use their own voice to promote those messages.
Would it be reasonable for that voice over artist to refuse that work? How is this different or not different from the Supreme Court case at issue?
I am curious about selling a Reddit account rather than deleting it. Might as well get something from this shit show. Will accounts go up in value after the 1st July? I know nobody has a crystal ball.
Has anyone had success #selling their artistic works, #Paintings#Photograph etc. via links in #mastodon ? I see so many links to #fineartamerica and other sales sites it seems that many here are trying. I use mastodon for inspiration and haven’t tried to sell @Curator
