This past weekend, I was at a family resort with my kids. There was an indoor pool there with a volleyball net. In the deep end, were a group of assorted kids playing. In the shallow end were mostly adults playing against them with a beach ball.
Every time the adults scored, they gave angry looks at the kids and held up their hands in the shape of an "L."
Congrats. You waded in the shallow end and scored playing beach ball volleyball at a family resort against a bunch of kids. I hope they felt good about themselves for that...
One of the things I think about in education... is what if there was a law that said you cannot advance unless you completed the work at the "A" level- whatever that is for each level.
Unable to graduate until all work was completed at that "A" level.
Where would you be?
Unable to make a decision to do minimum work for credit ("C" level).
I hate the concept of multiple guess and true/false questions... for myself and to give to students...
I know a lot of folks use them - 100% because easy to grade. #ugh
I like practical... troubleshooting, building a thing, defining a thing. Yes. Harder to grade - but I believe fairer, given we all can think a bit differently.
@RickiTarr Bio mother never told my father I existed & gave me up for adoption. Adopters claimed they were my parents but didn’t do any of the things parents are supposed to do—not even the most basic things. So … no parents. #Ugh
I heard back from a (federal) job that I'm very interested in that my qualifications are being assessed (I am very qualified.) I have a feeling I'm going to have to make a decision about the other job before I get an interview for this one. 😐#JobSearch
