TL;DR: it’s not all Garry’s Mod content, just content made using Nintendo IP. Everything from just straight-up adding Nintendo characters to other games (apparently including a lot of Animal Crossing characters) to levels or parts of levels being brought from Nintendo’s games into other games.

If what's being charged in this case is true -- an employee using "AI" to make a fake audio of his boss saying terrible things -- I hope he goes to jail for a serious stretch.

We are, to put it mildly, not prepared for the avalanche of malicious, synthetic lies coming soon.

I just got an email from with the subject "Introducing Voice ID from USAA". They're rolling out a new feature allowing people to be authenticated via voiceprint analysis when they call.
    What could possibly go wrong?
    Oh, yeah, this:

Fortunately it's opt-in, and I certainly will not be.

Minor gripe: every time I see my family, I am naturally family tech support. That's not the gripe. The gripe is how, despite being theoretically superior in design, Apple products are inscrutable ciphers for older folks. Especially iPad OS.

So many unintended gestures, accidentally enabled accessibility (aka: break functionality) features, and poor UX choices

@AAKL @verge @tomwarren but we have options, so Microsoft doesn't have to do any of this for us. It's for their interests.

What they have now is legacy code inertia from the 'developers, developers, developers!' era of Microsoft.
