Israeli performance was jeered with booo and free shouts from the public I'm , last night.

They shouldn't be allowed to participate if it wasn't for disgusting double standard of the organizers and pressure from Swedish and German government.

The New York Times is not an unbiased fount of information, but a sophisticated ideological weapon. Our goal is to unmask the Times and expose the paper for what it is: a tool of empire encased in a liberal veneer.

@mondoweiss @palestine @israel the New York Times was the only media that published an apology for false news after the Iraq INVASION, AFAIK.

There is a nuanced issue of reliable sources for media. .

Not defending them, but saying the sources available to them are at issue... As has well known when all the major news agencies maintained offices in Moscow to cover that region after the fall of USSR, which portrayed things from... A Moscovite perspective.

Stack Overflow's deal with "Open"AI is prompting the site's contributors to remove their posts and close their accounts. Good for them.

The "AI" cartel is telling the people who created and populated the open web that they were suckers.

Watching the bear vs man in forest stories & I remember when our 9-year-old son said some boys at recess offered to play with him if 'he hugged & kissed a girl.'

He replied, "No, that's inappropriate," & told us he didn't mind not being able to play with those boys after all. Later his teacher shared she was happy he stood up to peer pressure.

Y'all—it's never too early to teach boys about consent & boundaries. Have the convo. Then again. And again. Boys will be the boys we teach them to be.

You're found guilty based on "AI" software that can't be tested for accuracy.

How can this be?

Because law enforcement stacks the deck, and judges allow it, while legislatures ignore the injustices.

@dangillmor not an analogy. The point is that it demonstrates how flawed such algorithms are.

Your focus is on the risks. Rightly so. But the algorithms are used elsewhere.

Israel has been using algorithms with Lavender, but I did not want to go there. Civilian casualties could be seen as an analogy here for that which you speak.

knowprose,

@dangillmor of course they are not equal. And the point is that the lower consequence issues should have made the case for higher consequence issues.

They know there are problems. We keep seeing them with lower consequence issues. Yet, despite that, they are used in very life affecting ways.

Didn't think I needed to expand this much to make the point. Apologies.

@br00t4c great article. Trump does play to emotions (and not rationality), the mainstream media generally tells my generation and older what to think... Which is weird because my generation built the foundation of social media, citizen journalism, etc

Trump shows the dangers of emotive, Biden faces the dangers of rationality. That was a very good piece.

Article in Finnish, but very important in current conflict

Kreml uses ”traditional Russian heritage” as reasons to setup paramilitary training abroad. These ”cossacks” are not ethnic , but are paid by Russian state to conduct training with live weapons as ”heritage”

Of these Kremlin-funded cossacks around the world, 27000 have already fought in

Needless to say, Cossacks are not originally Russian either, but from south Ukraine 🇺🇦
