Another web site that's a time capsule: Computer Video Editing magazine shut down in December 2004, but their web site is still online. https://www.computervideo.net/

Finally posted a new vid today!

Taking a look at the history of 3dfx and the development of the original Voodoo Graphics.

It’s got everything! Game footage captured from the card, benchmarks, jabs at nVidia…

Enjoy!

3D-printed Mac replica is a maker masterwork inside an entirely accurate shell

What could have been a dozen separate videos is instead one 48-minute marvel.

Apple have been very cagey on the origins of the Brundlemac. All were unique, most were generally compatible with one another, but all had one or two ports that didn't seem to connect to anything else.

"...the occasional moaning and sighing is the worst part, but if the ominous error dialogs and expressions of terror at being shut down don't put you off, you'd do worse than this very well priced bundle. In some markets, Apple are paying customers to take Brundlemacs" - MacWorld, September 1997.

( on Haiku is very glitchy, whether running locally or over SSH. Look about halfway down the htop list. Getting a "stable" screenshot takes time.)

Some people have wondered why the is as tall as it is and here’s why: to fit big boi wavetable cards like this one. It’s also why there are holes for mounting standoffs.

Another angle showing how the cards connect via the pin headers on the PicoGUS. Plastic standoffs help hold the wavetable card.

⌨⬛ This is the NeXT computer. Tim Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau used it at CERN to set up the first web server, id Software developed games like Doom and Quake on it, and at Slovenian daily newspaper Delo they used it to digitize the entire newspaper production process.
