#firefish sieht nett aus. Ich hätte aber Fragen dazu und leider ist es schon wieder so, dass ein Administrator dieses Netzwerks es nicht für nötig erachtet, eine höfliche Anfrage mit Beachtung zu beschenken.

Hmm, a #raspberrypi 4b 8GB for all my #retrogaming needs?

I wanna play old games as easy as possible.

Until now I bought Mini-Consoles/-Systems or Collections on modern consoles and #steam

But this is not satisfying any longer plus: it costs ya!

I would love to have ONE device that can play #games starting from #Atari VCS via 8Bit- & 16Bit up to #mame #arcade games & maybe some home computer stuff.

Is this possible? What would I need (except a Pi, doh).

I am eger to hear from your exp.:)

Until now I do not own any storage system whatsoever for my Commodore C64 breadbin.

I am looking into several solutions like the SD2IEC (several) combined with a Final Cartridge III+ cartridge or an EPYX FASTLOAD cartridge.

The perfect yet pricy (for me) solution would be the Ultimate 1541 II-L cartridge.

Another one could be the Pi1541 but I haven't yet found any offer that can sell me the complete thing with the case ...

It is very stressful to read the local and federated timeline.

There are so many languages (of course!) I am not able to read and understand and here is my point:

It would be helpful if one can somehow select the languages one is into. Like for example german and english. Multiple choices would be nice.

Translation doesn't always work (for me or at all) so this would be helpful to sort the huge flow of information.

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

This seems to be a given in the Fediverse and it is continuously frustrating, no matter which server or service I address.

Everybody can start his/her own server but that's about it.

Users will have a bad experience with the Fediverse sooner or later when none of the people who offer infrastructure is willing to do any support whatsoever.

@ivory One can have several accounts. One can have several rows within #ivory. When switching the accounts, the other rows won’t switch too. One has to switch them manually for each row. On #Mac. On #iOS it is different (of course), because one switches the account and with it the whole window offers every info for this account. On Mac this should be the same ...

It has arrived!

My new old C64 is back in my possession. It is the model I owned as a kid in 1982/83. With a serial number towards the 400.000th built in Western Germany. It has the keyboard of the predecessor, the VIC-20.

Now I need two things next:

• a new PSU to power up the beast
• the Ultimate 1541 IIL expansion with lots of good and modern stuff on it

I'm looking forward to diving back into everything C64 :-) ...

Okay, #pixelfed wird wie #instagram genutzt. Man lernt nicht dazu und müllt einen Service, der prima geeignet ist, schöne Fotos der Öffentlichkeit vorzustellen, mit dem exakt selben Zeug zu, wie man ihn im Rest des #fediverse vorfindet.

Ganz prima. 🙄

Ab ca. Mitte Juni soll der MEGA 65 wieder verfügbar sein. Verdammt, 800 Euro sind echt nicht ohne. Aber ich grübele, ob das nicht vielleicht der bessere Schritt für #retrogaming ist. Zumal da alles dabei ist, was man sich wünscht und bei einem C64 erst noch dazu kaufen müsste. Was natürlich die Investitionssumme ebenfalls in die Höhe treibt ...

Was zum Teufel geht auf dem Server von Mastodon Social vor?

Der zickt seit einiger Zeit wieder sehr wild herum. Leider bekommt man von den Administratoren keinerlei Info mehr.

Meine App #tusky scheint sync Probleme mit dem Server zu haben. Likes und RTs werden öfter mal nicht ausgeführt. Das Senden von Toot dauert länger.

Das fühlte sich vor ein bis zwei Wochen noch ganz anders an ... 😳

Habt ihr eigentlich auch schon alle in Deutschland und Österreich 5G und Glasfaseranschluss? Seid ihr auch schon mit Highspeed im Internetz?

Dafür, dass das Zeug ja "die Zukunft" sei und so tut sich sich verdammt wenig.

Das könnte natürlich auch am Wettbewerb liegen. Warum sollten sich Marktführer wie die dt. Telekom anstrengen, 5G zu ermöglichen, wenn man weiter prima Kabel-Internet verkaufen kann? Mit Bindung am Besten. Glasfaser? Och nö, braucht eh niemand.

Wettbewerb ist toll ... 😳 🙄
