Ich bitte alle #Follower mal einen prüfenden Blick auf die Matrix zu werfen - insbesondere auf jene Messenger, die ihr selbst benutzt. M.E. ist @simplex die Lösung mit den meisten grünen Feldern. Wer also auf eine Nutzung im Web Browser verzichten kann und #InstantMessaging primär auf dem #Smartphone (und wenn auf dem Desktop, dann im selben Netzwerk wie das Smartphone) verwendet, der könnte auf diesen privatsphärefreundlichen und #PostQuantum sicheren #Messenger wechseln. 🙃
So, I've been arguing with myself over whether I should resurrect my #Telegram account or not. From various sources, I get the impression that their platform isn't all that secure despite their claims. If memory serves, one of the sources said they wouldn't trust it with anything more than a casual conversation, and definitely wouldn't trust it with more sensitive topics. I'm not interested in using #Meta services, so things like #Messenger & #WhatsApp are not options I'd consider. At this point, my messaging options are #Signal and #Matrix even though the latter isn't the most #accessible option. Heck, when you get down to it, the former has a few accessibility annoyances on #Android which is the mobile platform I use. Decisions, decisions...
For the people asking about Sup, I've put it on hold pending the new EU laws that require interoperability with large platforms like WhatsApp and Signal.
I'm still working my way around the new laws and requirements so Sup can take advantage, but it requires some refactoring to be compatible.
I think @supapp has the potential to be a game changer for the fediverse, but I want to get it right.
After Loops, I plan to publish the app client + server, likely in May.
Bei ca.. Minute 36: zumindest das #BSI engagiert sich dafür, dass die gängigen #Messenger wie #Signal, #Threema und Co. untereinander verschlüsselt Nachrichten austauschen sollen.
Wer glaubt, dass - falls sie sich auf einen Standard einigen - diese dann der sicherste von allen sein wird?
