I'm asking for help. If you have the spoons to spare, could you help me find a replacement for this ceramic dish? I am hunting for an exact pattern match—"The Blueberry Plate," my 8 yr old niece's favorite dish. She accidentally dropped her plate while trying to get it to the sink. 16P Proximal Deletion Syndrome, another type of neurodivergence in my family, can make muscle tone, coordination, and proprioception difficult. @Tooden @swordplay @Adhdinos @actuallyautistic I did find the manufacturer! Gibson Home. Pretty ubiquitous… except for what I’m hunting for. I asked my sister to pull out the pieces and send me photos then reached out to the company to see if they could give me any more leads.

Week two into my move and new job. Rumbling has been a difficult to manage, but I’ve known for a long time that good and bad experiences can lead to rumbling and meltdowns or shutdowns. I’m hopeful for a time soon when the newness wears off a bit and routine can shoulder some of the burden of stimulation.

    @glauber @franciscawrites @bookstodon This made me look again at this book and add it to my . The movie was playing the day a close family member passed away… I remember none of it except she enjoyed it. I could never get myself to watch it let alone touch one of his books (outside of Good Omens). I’m looking forward to it now.

    I've enjoyed using Meetup.com to find peer groups to engage with. If you have never used Meetup.com to find local ND groups, I recommend checking it out. In 2021, I found a local autism peer group over Zoom—that group was and is profoundly informative, validating, and often enjoyable.

    @actuallyautistic This morning I was called a yokel, a word I have not heard outside of old television in my lifetime until now—among other labels. When I asked them to clarify how they used yokel, the coworker identified many visible traits they had been noting since we met yesterday, paired with appearing young. I had the opportunity to correct them and let my skillset speak for me throughout the day. @audhd

I'm anticipating a challenging week and then a better week next week once I have repaired the routines that hold up my day. Right now, it feels like I walked into my own circus and clicked out the tent poles so I could move it to the next city.

There is a version of myself in my head that is adventurous and spontaneous, and when I forget that it is not the complete picture, just a piece, then I am not mentally/emotionally prepared when disruption upends my ability emotionally regulate.
