I had a pet possum for a while when I was a kid. Good old Q-ball! Nothing had been dead too long for him. He would take a nibble from anything.
I fed him on dogfood and fruit cocktail. Sadly, my mom made me get rid of him because she couldn't handle an escape artist possum wandering the house at night. And my dad wasn't too fond of that either.
They both threatened to strangle Pa tooter if he ever brought something like that to me again. I haven't thought of Q-ball in years.
Would an AM or FM radio station be easier to maintain in a Post Apocalyptic world? How much power would a decent size radio station take to operate? (Mainly the broadcasting tower).
@mattblaze Damn. That's neat to know.
.
I was basing it off extrapolation from a single Microwave tower still in use (as of 4 years ago, at least) in an isolated area of New Mexico. It's the only internet link for some 200 odd people scattered around far too much of an area. Bandwidth is not impressive.

“One of the world’s cultural treasure troves were created in West Africa. But for over a century they’ve been held in museums outside of Africa. In fact, an estimated 95 percent of Africa’s cultural heritage is kept in museums overseas.”
@LeviKornelsen Some vitamins do more than others. Vitamin D is synthesized from sunshine, in the skin. And it requires about 20 minutes of sun to kick off the process.
Not many people get that these days.
The pills work, but not as effectively as Vitamin D your skin produces (Pill D is in a form your body has some difficulty with).
A good multivitamin can be useful, but generally isn't.
For 28 years I’ve owed a bet payout. To get up on stage in a Karaoke bar and do an enthusiastic sing along to Madonna’s “Like a virgin”. I need to get on this. #music#karaoke#bets
I was ambivalent about this lego knock off ant … but then I realized it has guns for antennas AND “butt waggle” action so I was all in. It’s perfect. 👍 Very Harpegnathos-like that waggle. (to see how ants "waggle" check this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74ruqyOUX-8)
"But here's the thing: being able to say, 'wherever you get your podcasts' is a radical statement. Because what it represents is the triumph of exactly the kind of technology that's supposed to be impossible: open, empowering tech that's not owned by any one company, that can't be controlled by any one company, and that allows people to have ownership over their work and their relationship with their audience."
@geordie@Binder ooh, in Chris Tullbanes post apocalyptic superhero series there is a villain that does this! She controls a huge area, her and her children. Her many thousands of children
