Have you ever heard of #OpenStreetBrowser (OSB) for #OpenStreetMap ?

They're one of the better thematic browsers for @osm , like when you're trying to find features in the same class (e.g. all cafes in a given area.)

The OSB dev recently updated the Walking Amenties "Quality Control" category to highlight map features according to their "completeness".

Dark blue are "perfect" 😉 items, cyan has the recommended tags, and red miss important tags.

The @pinoy @OSM—PH communities in #Manila , #Philippines got together last Sunday, for a field mapping party ("AlayData"), celebrate #OpenDataDay, and got to play with the #SCEE app (a fork of #StreetComplete) and #FieldPapers , while another team opted to collect ground level photos for #Panoramax.

While most of the folks have experience with #OpenStreetMap mapping, we had a couple of novice participants, who seemed to have enjoyed it as much as we did.

We ought to do this more often.

A nearby city call these crossings as "Gora¹ Lanes", an attempt to make walking fun, attractive, and accessible to more people.

From the screenshot² below, it's something like an arty zebra (or "continental") crossing, and I saw minimal use of crossing:markings=artwork in #OpenStreetMap, and taggable with crossing:markings=yes.

I wonder how you folks might tag it.

When mapping street addresses in #OpenStreetMap, the minimum tag you probably need is addr:housenumber and addr:street, or maybe addr:place.

In this example, house numbers 971 and 977 are the only two points actually mapped, and connected by a way tagged with addr:interpolation=odd.

The geocoder still returned the estimated position for the unmapped housenumber, 975.

When editing #OpenStreetMap on the go, @everydoor is my hands-down favorite, but I'd hesitate recommending it for more new mappers.

I've been playing with #OsmGo just now, and really like how easy it is, maybe even for new contributors.

Plus, it's a progressive web app that runs in a browser, or installable in your device: https://osmgo.com , so this also seems to be a great candidate tool to introduce as a friendly editor for @openstreetmap mapping parties for new users.

A scene in a documentary on #DWtv, "In the Empire of the Incas - New Insights in the Andes" shows the scientist discussing a lidar map, while using #QGIS.

The scientists are collecting imagery over forests, and trying to determine Inca buildings underneath the canopy.

While watching a show on NHK World 0, they featured a unique footpath in Nishinomiya, #Japan: Manbow Tunnel.

Have you heard of #Panoramax? They bill themselves as the free "street view"

It's a test instance of #GeoVisio run by IGN with the French #OpenStreetMap community where you can share your street-level imagery collection.

They're conceptually in the same space as #Mapillary, #KartaView , or #GoogleStreetView.

Images taken outside of France are welcome, although the low-level zoom maps aren't available just yet.

#Microsoft has its own #OpenStreetMap editor called #MapBuilder

Previously, #MapBuilder contributors' edits are uploaded to OSM with a single account until it was blocked by the DWG.

It appears that they now have a dedicated team that validates the prior MapBuilder contributions before adding them to OSM.
