@jwz As a driver in a place that almost requires it, I want this on all my cars. If I’m that far over the limit, either I screwed up big and need to know, or I’m doing it in an emergency and a beep will be the least of my concerns. Hell, give me the “Overspeed” warning aircraft pilots get.

On the ICC warrants for Hamas & Israeli leaders, one line of protest is that “Hamas are autocrats but Bibi is democratically elected.” Um, so what? Whatever you think of Israeli voting choices, only leaders can be held responsible for giving the orders amounting to “Go ahead, slaughter the innocents.” I honestly don’t get it.

@JaneSmith One that gets charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity, that’s what. As they have, starting with leaders but not necessarily ending there. These are not rewards, and claiming them as such makes no sense.

• a digital photo frame with an embedded raspberry pi
• use microphones to listen for birds
• check audio against the Merlin Bird ID system

Sometimes I can’t tell if something is AI or just poorly-executed art, but either way, shipping something like this tells me something about your sense of taste that I miiiight just extrapolate to your product.

I am sincerely wondering how hard it is to style a #HTML checkbox using #CSS. I'd be happy with just aligning them with a label, but this already seems to be asking for a lot. And most answers I find online are already outdated...

But hey, if you know more than I do let me know 🙂

@danrot It’s not easy to alter the appearance of a checkbox. Aligning them with the label can be relatively easy for most (not all) alignments, using either flexbox or Grid (which one will depend on your specific use case).

Form elements are difficult in general, because of a whole lot of factors a toot could not possibly contain.

…and it seemed to improve Chrome and not really change Firefox Nightly (both on macOS). Anyway, maybe you already tried that and it didn’t work for you, in which case, sorry to trample old ground!

@danrot Hmm. Have you tried align-items: baseline? Which might make the checkbox look weird against single-line label, but better against a multi-line label. (And maybe try using container queries to try to change the alignment depending on the label’s height?)

And, whatever most programmers say about them, HTML and CSS are absolutely much more accessible to learn than JS ever has been or will be

Textarea rows attribute now works as expected in Firefox 128 after 25 years!

Found a final bug in WebKit with vertical writing modes and then all 3 engines should be aligned.

There's already case law on these sorts of shenanigans: Midler v. Ford Motor Co., so Altman was either ignorant of this, in which case OpenAI needs new counsel, or he knew and did it anyway, because fuck you Scarlett Johannson. I'm pretty sure it's the latter.
