MAYBE it's because outlets like the NYT keep ignoring Trump's gaffes, like Washington liberating the airport in Newark or drawing on a NWS hurricane map with a Sharpie or calling the CEO of Apple "Tim Apple," or numerous other things.

If as much attention they are giving to Biden's gaffes were given to Trump's, the "age issue" might be a problem for both men.

Days like today are why I continue to reject the legitimacy of in my heart.

Article 3 of the 14th Amendment is very clear. Perhaps there is a short discussion to be had to determine whether or not Trump engaged in insurrection, which all but the most unserious people agree that he did.

What I heard today was a barrage of questioning that could only be described as fishing for angles to skew reality and allow the insurrectionist-in-chief to somehow RUN FOR FUCKING PRESIDENT AGAIN.

@palin Every time I think about SCOTUS, and how two of the justices are just openly, unapologetically corrupt, and how three others were appointed by an insurrectionist Russian asset, and that these people will be deciding laws for a generation, they feel like I’ve been hit in the back of the head by a shovel. How can this be real?

As a layman listening to today’s hearings, I can’t help but notice that it sure seems like the conservative partisan justices are grasping for the tiniest speck of a loophole they can latch on to that would allow Trump to run for president after engaging in insurrection.

The question for them is not “does the 14th Amendment bar Trump from running for office?”; the question is “how can we find a workaround that allows us to ignore the 14th Amendment?”

I’ll stick to railroading.

Humanity must escape Capitalism. Capitalism epitomizes a system rife with exploitation and inequality. Capitalism creates economic disparities, where a privileged few amass wealth and control resources at the expense of the marginalized many. Capitalism has an inherent tendency to commodify human labor, creating alienation and reducing individuals to mere cogs in the profit-driven machinery. In essence, Capitalism is antithetical to human progress and freedom.

@Radical_EgoCom I read your posts every day, and they’re among my favorite reads anywhere. I have found my personal views trending towards anarcho-communism in recent years.

I think one thing that people, who are otherwise sympathetic to anarcho-communism, may find off putting is the notion of no private property. Their first thought might be, “So, I wouldn’t even own my own home?”, and you lose them right there.

Thoughts on that?

@chris I never thought it possible to see the direct descendants of those who suffered at the hands of Nazi Germany turn around and not see (or worse, not care) how they are causing nearly the same level of suffering on another people. It’s truly jaw dropping, and I think this every day.

It’s not always easy to accept an offer for help; often, pride can get in the way of a chance to deepen connections with a neighbor or friend. Practice accepting offers for help. I’ve been mindful of it, and once you start really paying attention, you notice people offering help everywhere. It’s in our nature.
