Prejudice against the rich is completely justified. It is a rejection of an unjust economic system that perpetuates systematic oppression, inequality, and enables the wealthy to exploit others through their accumulation of wealth. Only by expressing disdain for the wealthy can we challenge the existing socioeconomic order. So don't feel ashamed for your prejudicial attitudes towards the rich, be proud of it!

After a year off Twitter, I'm surprised that I don't have even a single regret about leaving. The more I think about it, the more I realize it wasn't the takeover that did it. Sure, there was a massive and harmful political shift, but there's just always been something about the platform that attracts extremely unhealed people regardless of political leaning.

You can make a post like "I just got a coffee and the milk was sour" then someone on the right will be like "Biden's border crisis is the reason we can't get good milk anymore" and then someone on the left will be like "do you think starving children in Africa would complain about sour milk?". Eventually, you just realize the platform is designed for people who's only form of therapy is logging on to the internet and being annoying as fuck.

@malwaretech I left the book of face roughly a year ago and went all-in on the fediverse; I don’t miss Zuck’s algorithm or 24/7 surveillance one bit. One can’t really appreciate how truly awful it is until viewing it from the outside. I wish more people would come around.

For those who hear big oil’s talking points about going dead in the cold, I’d like to offer an anecdotal counterpoint:

On its worst day - with subzero temps, the heater/defroster working full-time, seat heaters on - our costs half as much to run as a comparable ICM car costs on its best day.

However, ours isn’t a Tesla, so it actually charges when it’s cold.

I dread this coming year.

We could very well see the end of democracy in the U.S. A traitorous, seditious party will certainly still maintain enough power to keep fouling things up, and fully 1/3 of the country will still bow down to an ideology that promotes a wannabe dictator, white supremacy, and the exclusion of all things that are outside of their narrow ideology.

This isn’t going to change. These people aren’t going to come around. This is reality now, and I hate it.
