My passions are in the areas of #photography, #graphicdesign, #typography and #music. And, of course, family ❤️

Yeah, I hear you. Affinity makes great products and we all hope the commercial model will stay reasonable. I have similar fears.

I'm trying to apply some Buddhist advice I heard once:

For sure, don't get me wrong - I love Bob Marley's music and lyrics. Even though the songs are around 50 years or so by now, the stories he told explain a lot about what's wrong in the world.

TBH, in my younger years, I had very limited knowledge of politics and what was actually happening at that level. The only thing I looked to Thatcher for was wondering what hair products she used. How do you get a do THAT tall without a single hair moving? I concluded it was probably L'Oreal Elnett hair spray and it became my daily driver for years in during the 80s.

It is. The "Poolside Singers" are the highlight of the series for me, even if they only get a minute or two of airtime per episode. The way they go with 100% confidence into the old synth hits, with hillarious outfits and only Spanish lyrics is priceless.

Weirdly, I found not a single clip on YouTube of them.

No need to re-invent the wheel. Good example of keeping stability in a product so users already familiar won't need to re-learn new controls or rearranged controls.

So true, and strange that people have a problem with understanding this basic concept.

The tendency to require oversimplification of complex issues is also very much present in enterprise IT work. Presenting a vital (and often expensive) project idea needs to be delivered in five bullets or less - on a single slide.

Capitalism is a game where the winners take it all, its natural form evolves into concentration of power.

The old claim that "the market will sort it out" is only true as long as there are many suppliers competing for the customers, and none of them become big enough gain a dominant market position.

Reasonable regulation and taxation of economic markets is needed to counteract the natural tendencies of capitalism.
