Saying “I support the right of Jewish people to exist” is already a little weird to me since I don’t see that as questionable (guess it is for some) but it definitely sounds bad if you add a “but” on the end. That’s not as supportive as you think it is, people who keep saying it.

@msbellows @TonyStark @Okanogen @dukepaaron Indigenous people were treated very poorly in North America in the 20th century. During the 60s scoop, many indigenous children were stolen from their parents, sent off to face horrific abuses, not to mention the cultural genocide. Or needing a pass to leave a reserve. There is much more.
I don't agree with the actions of the Israeli government, but please don't portray the abuses of indigenous people in NA as far back in time.

My garden is a love letter.
To my partner, my friends, my neighbours, the bees, the trees the Earth. And maybe even to you who might appreciate some of it's beauty 😉

Having been here for years, many plants have a story, memory, motivation associated with them. I am going to share my garden pictures in this thread throughout the season.

My partner always wanted a Magnolia, so I'm taking extra care of this youngin.

Sometimes, I contemplate ways that I can use my pottery skills/making to give back to people in need or causes I care about.
I have trouble wrapping my mind around any of the administrative components.
Basically, I'd like to give a piece or two away every month or so to someone whose day it might brighten, but then I start thinking about practicalities like postage costs...
If anyone has ideas or suggestions, please feel free to comment. I may not reply beyond a fave, as I'm not feeling great.

After ending national abortion rights, the Christian fascists have been targeting birth control and pornography.

Ben Carson has signaled the next challenge: no-fault divorce.

They'll also go for extramarital and same-sex intimacy as well.

@mattsheffield This will lead to more abused women and children and create more trauma and misery. I'm sure their wannabe president will be exempt though, as he seems to be to most rules.

Guess who is now half a century old?

It took me till my early 40s to find my true passion of creating pottery and making art from clay. I'm always feeling like I am late to my calling and trying to play catch up.

If you have an interest in art or pottery and like the work you see below, consider helping to support this older person's dreams and follow along to be a part of my pottery journey. And remember, it's never too late to chase your dream

Happy Caturday!

Which handle would you prefer on your mug?

An accidental tea bowl.

This tea bowl was originally fired in a conventional glaze firing, but I was not happy with those results.

When I was first starting raku, I thought I'd add some raku glazes to it, and re-fire it in a raku firing. Even though it is not food safe, it's become one of my cherished pieces of self made pottery.

If you like art/pottery and want to see more, please follow my pottery journey here!

I am vey happy with how this mug turned out and will be making more in this style! I'll also be trying some new colours! Any you'd like to see?

This week I am posting a more conventionally shaped tea bowl! I do love how the glaze turned out on the outside of this piece.

Working my way towards making 50 tea bowls, all for the sake of playing with glazes!

Are there any colours or colour combinations you might like to see on future tea bowls?

@kerravonsen @thepoliticalcat A combo of these two would look beautiful. Definitely necessary for this project.

Since my goal is to make 50 tea bowls this year to test glazes with, I am taking some liberties with the shape of some of the pieces.

Do you think this is tea bowl blasphemy or is there a place for less conventionally shaped tea bowls?

Eventually, I will make some matching teapots for my favourite pieces, and the less conventional tea bowls may lead to some interesting teapot designs.

I specialize in raku pottery, as shown below, but also make functional ware and do other alternative/historical firing techniques.

Yesterday I was daydreaming of spring and our gardens and these raku pottery pieces come to mind. What do these pieces remind you of?

Here's hoping my poor flower bulbs are not too confused (they started coming up in February.

I'm really excited with how the glazes interacted and turned out on this piece. I may make a teapot with a similar glazing.

In Canada, we have a long weekend, for a holiday called 'Family Day'.
Awoke this morning to some fluffy snow and my partner and I decided to go for a beautiful morning walk.
Not only was I struck by the beauty of it all, but an immense gratitude swelled up within me for our little family.
Regardless of what anyone thinks, the family you choose is valid. Queer, bi, gay, straight, no kids all beautiful and worth celebrating.
