She switches it to her other hand, batting away a diner from the next table over, who is trying to chew on her arm.

To my former employer's credit, I got a very generous severance deal & don't need to immediately seek re-employment; so I'll be taking time off to decompress & reorient myself 🤞🏻 (and will "keep the lights on" re: OSS projects.)

#WashingtonDC knowers: seeking tips for a ~weeklong adults-only trip late June.

What not to miss (“Used Tissue Museum is amazing!”), what /to/ miss (“Postage Stamp Gallery overrated”), what /not/ to do (“avoid Metro on Tuesdays, when it's usually on fire”), etc.

Current plan: hotel in Dupont Circle, metro-or-drive as needed (eg: metro to Mall, drive to Udvar-Hazy).

Caveats:

• #CovidCautious
• #handicapped (MIL can't do stairs)
• don't like heat (yes, lol, sadly timing is birthday related)

Should've bookmarked the toot I saw the other day that very correctly and unhappily pointed out how we're in a world where you can go up to a random person, say “Ethnic cleansing is bad, yo!”, and they ask you to stop for a sec & clarify which ethnicity you're talking about before they decide if they agree.

(Other #PyConUS attendees: the jaunt across the river to the inclines is SUPER WORTH IT. Grab nearly any bus or hop over to the old train station near the Westin to catch the light rail.)

Was chatting about #YokoKanno at dinner one PyCon evening (pretty sure with @davidism) and it struck me today (as my “anime OP/ED" playlist was playing) that we never brought up one of my favorite Kanno works, the #TurnAGundam soundtrack.

Especially the main theme, "Moon”, whose vocal performance is credited to one Gabriela Robin…eventually revealed to be a pseudonym of Kanno herself! Turns out she can compose /and/ sing (and how.)
