I think we're losing something by not returning to the workplace. (I teach, so I've been back since the pre-vax days of Sept. 2020.) But here in , our transportation system is completely broken whether you drive or take MBTA. Yes. The national news media needs to do a much better job. But it is not clear their failings are well addressed by other outlets trying to fill in what they are missing.

@dankennedy_nu TV news programs have been showing video game footage as b-roll when talking about Houthi rebel attacks. I saw this on ABC News last night - it was obviously 3D rendered, showing rebels storming a merchant vessel.

They at least attribute the footage to Houthi news sources, but should they be using it at all? It's plainly not real, and to my mind, it's incredibly damaging to the credibility of the news org not to point that out to the viewer.

I am my husband's caregiver.
It is a privilege.
In 2012, I needed life-saving surgery. I would have three surgeons for an early morning marathon procedure. I needed to prep and leave home at 3 am. My husband was at the end of his season as an aerial firefighter. He said he would be home for me, and he was. He parked his plane and rented a car driving home in 8 hours, getting here with 30 minutes to spare.
After the successful procedure, I needed help for weeks. He did everything. He even carried me up and down stairs and laid me on the kitchen counter to wash my hair in the sink. I had to walk every two hours, and he had me up on his arm like clockwork. We were a team just like we are now.
We are good at this.

I don’t understand why the legal system is so intent on tormenting Alec Baldwin. What happened seems like a tragic accident that he had nothing to do with. What should he have done differently? Enlighten me.

@dankennedy_nu In the year 1990 someone where I worked put the following message on the whiteboard in the lunchroom. They used a permanent sharpie marker. The message: "Floggings will continue until morale improves - management". They actually hired a handwriting expert who told them "Sorry I cannot help you that is obviously a stencil". One of the best days at work ever.

18 November 1938 | A Dutch Jewish girl, Flore Merjam Cohn, was born in Amsterdam.

She arrived at Auschwitz on 2 September 1943 in a transport of 1,004 Jews deported from Westerbork. She was among 498 of them murdered in a gas chamber after the selection.
