    Thread about how we had “3D printed” houses over a hundred years ago.

    Unlike the ones today these actually existed and were very affordable (think $6,000 in today’s money for a complete 1-bedroom house).

    @thomasfuchs I live in one of those houses. Not sure it’s sears but it’s one of the several kit homes from the early 1900s. An American Foursquare but I have not found it in any catalogs.

    Truong My Lan, a Vietnamese billionaire property developer, was sentenced to death for a massive fraud scheme that funneled $44 billion from the country’s largest bank. She, along with 85 other people, were found guilty in the sprawling trial that was conducted by 10 state prosecutors and about 200 lawyers who summoned 2,700 to testify.     That's incredibly low. I live in a little NJ town, in a house valued at less than $550,000 and, on this list, only Portland pays more taxes than I do.

    For my taxes I get...

    Schools, a small volunteer fire department, and a public works department.

    No police, no trash collection, and a small park in a flood zone.

    The Alabama Supreme Court has ruled that because any frog could be a baby that has been transformed into a frog by an evil sorcerer, frogs are now legally people. Judicial scholars have not yet determined how this ruling will affect our lives, but have collectively declared that although clearly idiotic, it is sadly not the most idiotic decision the Alabama Supreme Court has made this week.
