My beer of choice since last Thanksgiving is non alcohol beer. I've been trying various, including Samuel Adams brews, but I've been spoiled by my first, Athletic Brewing. The web site boasts an assortment of NA brews, most of which have not shown up here, or, like the dark, are hard to find where it's sold. We just discovered the Ripe Pursuit Lemon Radler and at first I was disappointed that an ingredient was cane sugar, but I think it's going to be an occasional treat.

John Brunner wrote very depressing science fiction, including "Stand on Zanzibar". In the latter he describes a world in chaos (not to be confused with dystopian) with terrorist bombs, random lethal attacks on the public and technology that can no longer be trusted- and it's basic, like microwave ovens.
He didn't foresee school shootings, but did write of China using nuclear weapons to put down a rebellion in one of its provinces.

These companies go out of business and disappear to avoid the cost of of clean up after a well field is closed.
Then the people who ran these "defunct" companies come up with a new name to operate under and start working again for the oil corporations they serve and provide with enough distance from the environmental damage so they, too avoid the cost of clean up.
Clean up is left to the states where oil exploration is conducted.
