My husband’s family was poor. School lunch sustained him, sometimes his only meal. He went to public schools and excelled. He has an advanced degree in Physics Engineering and worked on NASA programs before becoming a software architect. Under GOP rule, he wouldn’t have gotten a school lunch, and wouldn’t have made the contributions he has. I have no idea what design flaw makes conservatives such miserable humans.

Back to , I’m still in a phase where the device is waking me up 4 to 5 times a night for one reason or another. Normally I never wake up, even though I only slept 6 hours. I sure hope this phase passes because right now, I’m more exhausted during the day than I’ve been in a long time.

It does pass. My husband went through the adjustment period and it was rough. Now he sleeps so deeply that I’m jealous. Having a good specialist that can listen to your feedback and help you make adjustments helps.

Try this at home. Go into any typical fast food restaurant and tell the manager you are observing people’s habits for an article you are writing and you’d like to hang around for a few hours observing. (Most won’t object. *)

Then just listen to the conservations. For as long as you can stand it. The mess you’ll see and hear is the culture that TV and social media have created over the last 60+ years.
