@danluu I drove my friend’s car for almost a month when mine was in the shop longer than expected due to shortage of replacement parts.

My friend’s car has a lot of (non-tactile) capacitive touch controls which almost always require drive to search for them to use.

For sure I wouldn’t get any cars like that.

@arstechnica I was looking to replace my car in 2022 with a plug-in hybrid one.

After trying out several of them, I ended up with none. That’s because all of them featured touch capacitive controls. I definitely avoid them.

Why did it take this long?

CNET has been practically useless for longer than 15 years. Ever noticed their product reviews are merely product specifications?
Most of their articles were not even originals.
Their podcasts were hosted by people who didn’t understand science and technology.

CNET had been churning out useless articles for years. They get even lazier by using computer automated services to generate articles.

For example, this Slayer “blood-filled” vinyl retailed at $200 and someone bought it for $1,000.

@daringfireball having used the Apple FineWoven case for 10 days to date (don’t need to ask), my experience is different than the article.

Of course, I am not doing any stress test such as purposely running my fingernails or anything sharp to the back of the case. I’m using it the way I use any iPhones with any cases.

It is different to use something as your own than review unit.

Yeah, this case is less grippy than its leather counterpart. In a few months I would be able to say more.

“250 mm to inches” will return the correct answer.

Instead of inserting a “space” it is overwriting the first “m” with a “space”.

They’re still actively using Instagram.
