xv6 for sure is a great resource for someone wanting to dive into 😎

The code is simple and quite easy to follow - for the most part. One still needs to dig into internals for sure. But, the size is not intimidating.

No matter how old I get, I always find joy in using :slackware:

It is simple, easy to maintain and rock solid 😎

I highly recommend giving it a shot - especially nowadays with complexity running rampanet.

Get some :linux:

This goes out to every user:

No matter how hard one tries, truly is forever.
Some things simply are the way they are.
Mabye it sounds silly... but anytime I work with it, it puts a smile on my face 🙂

Keep collection slack and use :slackware:

There is a reason why it still is very much alive and well 😎

When building a kernel on one can simply use:

$ make -j NR_PROC bindeb-pkg

The "bindeb-pkg" make option (Or rather make target) takes care of making a .deb package 😎

What is your cross platform #GUI toolkit of choice?

I target #BSD #Linux and #Windows (10/11)
(#Debian #Arch #FreeBSD #OpenBSD)

Saw that #wxwidgets would fit the bill 🙂 (From what I read)

Looking for some experiences 🙂

Languages: #C++ #Python #Go

Note: For #CSharp I use #WPF or #Winforms

If anyone else wonders how to use on 12 without logging:
(Since rsyslog is not installed anymore - journalctl provides that part now):

Create a jail.local file under /etc/fail2ban/ and make sure to add "backend = systemd" to make use journalctl.

Example config:

[sshd]
enabled = true
backend = systemd
port = 22
maxretry = 3
findtime = 10m
bantime = 30d
ignoreip = 127.0.0.0/8

Restart and all will be fine 😎
