A question for the specialists around here. Does this pattern have a name yet?

When a LLM generates a response to a prompt but then erases it partially or entirely after having it displayed for a few seconds. I'm even thinking this is not the LLM censoring itself a posteriori, but another program watching its output.

Anyone knows what terminology is being used to describe this behavior?

"During the pandemic, we got a very clear picture of the incentives of the tech industry. Once many of us were isolated in our homes to avoid contracting or spreading a contagious virus, tech companies saw their revenues and profits soar as we spent much more time in front of our screens engaging with their services."

@cford In my neighborhood, we do. A lot of the churros places I know in Barcelona do just that. Doesn't mean you can't get churros also in a bar, etc.

Come to my place around Sunday at 4pm. That's usually when we like to go.

I thought the ad was fine. I like that people are analysing and discussing things like this though.

judeswae,
@judeswae@toot.thoughtworks.com avatar

@cford It's been a very long time since an Apple ad has made me press the "like button". Whether it's with mother nature, unlimited storage for photos or whatever, it portraits something I don't fall for.

I think in this case, it might resonate with the struggle the creative industry has with the latest AI development. A whole class of workers is feeling robbed, threatened, "crushed?" by the latest GenAI "creative" models.

judeswae,
@judeswae@toot.thoughtworks.com avatar

@cford without the apology, I probably would not have seen the ad.

But are their arguments right, or is there just something about very smart minds that leaves them vulnerable to religious conversion about AI risk, and makes them particularly persuasive?"
