it feels good to search for my own music on soulseek and find a bunch of people sharing the files. Bandcamp is for those who can afford to support, but soulseek means everyone can enjoy it. Music is for everyone.

@ward Soulseek?? Holy time warp, batman. I had no idea that thing was still around.

No, it doesn't. Not only those files aren't following any of the stardard markdown flavours, but also obsidian doesn't even have official export to markdown.
That means, the moment this proprietary tool gets enshittified you might lose all your internal links and attachments.
Don't believe it? try to move to other note taker and prove me wrong

macberg,
@macberg@mastodon.online avatar

@graphito There are many ways to lock oneself into Obsidian, plugins such as dataview comes to mind. However the link type you can change from Wikilinks to Markdown links in the settings?

Unfortunately, I still can't use my . When operating on the two units, they after about an hour because they constantly have to compensate for (voltage a times drops from 220V to 140V). Whitout UPS, my power conditioners refuse to work because of "extreme voltage". So I guess I will have to be patient until we'll eventually get a system up and running.
I trust that there's a good reason for all of this and stay . 🫣️🫣️

Re: binary pricing

Some people mentioned it would be better to keep Bundle and Subscription and drop Single, because Single is confusing.

See https://accounts.zrythm.org/en/products/selection

Should the "Single" option be dropped?

macberg,
@macberg@mastodon.online avatar

@zrythm I'd like to hear how it's confusing? I've never heard of it before and the short text explaining it was very easy to understand?

macberg,
@macberg@mastodon.online avatar

@zrythm Unusual, maybe. But it seems simply like paying for a downloadable executable/installer that doesn't update in any way, ever. Not that complicated imo. And I read that comment to be more about the pricing rather than the offering of a single version.

macberg,
@macberg@mastodon.online avatar

@zrythm I can only speak from my personal point of view, but sure, especially during early development when updates might be frequent, a lower price for a static version could be a way to get more people to try it. But like you say, maybe make it extra obvious what it is. Maybe market it as something different from the other two, like a fully functional "demo" or "snapshot" that you pay for to support the project or something, I don't know.

A few times I have told the anecdote that the singly most baffling thing I ever saw in a code review — not the most insecure, just the most “how could a real programmer have written this? how could this ever make sense?” thing — was simply a C++ variable “number_of_trucks” … declared as float. Unambiguously referring to real physical trucks in a fleet.

Reader, it’s been over ten years and I am blowing the gods damn whistle. I had edited that story to protect the guilty: the variable was named number_of_planes. It was shipped by a company whose name begins with “B” and rhymes with “GOING out of business.”

macberg,
@macberg@mastodon.online avatar

@0xabad1dea Oooh, that's smart! They made sure to have the software ready for partial planes, losing emergency doors and stuff. Ahead of their time, really.

Without changing anything on my system, strange things suddenly happen in (, stable, 43.0). The input via keyboard is so slow and delayed that e.g. the word "amadeus" (written reasonably quickly) can appear on the screen as "dmaaesu" (code editor and terminal). I have to wait until a character has appeared on the screen before I can enter the next one. I have already tried flatpak repair. Has anyone experienced something alike before? If not, I file a bug report.

macberg,
@macberg@mastodon.online avatar

@amadeus Whoa, characters appearing out of order even! That's extra scary. Never even heard of something like that before.

macberg,

@amadeus That seems very complex. But on the other hand the characters are beautiful!

Do any of you synchronize between different (s) to keep their states as identical as possible?

Being unemployed sucks, and getting a shitty job sadly sucks even more, because with my diagnoses I've never been able to apply for a single job while I have a full time job, due to exhaustion from the full time job. And the longer I have said shitty job - the more irrelevant my skills become = harder to get a better job.
Shitty job = I'm stuck there forever = depression spiraling out of control = bad ending.

Using on multiple devices and want sync between them? Don't want to upload your vault to some server online, be it Obsidian, Google or whatever? I found to be superb for my use case. One Windows/Linux Workstation, two Linux laptops, Android smartphone. All syncing well over my local network.

I have a new pro display that behaves strangely. It stays black throughout the boot process of my PC and reports No Signal. It only turns on at the login screen.
I should be able to access GRUB, but I have no chance like that. Also BIOS = no chance. Tried DP and HDMI connections internal and dedicated Radeon GPU.
Does anyone have experience with something similar?

@amadeus Hm. Then I haven't got a clue. And I'm guessing you've tried different settings on the monitor, if there are any that could seem slightly relevant.
