14 African American district attorneys got elected in Georgia, and all of a sudden the (GOP-controlled) legislature thinks it needs to set up a committee to oversee district attorneys. #Maddow
This MSNBC special on today's court cases is depressing as hell. Any notion that the SCOTUS's Federalist Society wing is anything other than corrupt is now officially dead. And the bad guys are getting worse.
My take on Trump-immunity oral arguments: Trump's attorneys likely have successfully delayed the start of the J6 trial past Election Day. The justices are all over the map re private vs. public vs. criminal acts.
"America's Plastic Makers" are running an ad that says, "Imagine a future" in which plastic is reused. In other words, they've been lying to us for the past 80-odd years.
@Pineywoozle Plastic makers, which is to say, oil companies, have lied as much about the health/environmental damages of their product as have cigarette makers. The cigarette makers have been kinda sorta held accountable for their fraud on the public. It needs to happen for the oil industry as well.
Sure, but I don't personally believe whiteness to be a state of existing, and I don't think defining people in this way is helpful. The last years of intersectional theory dominating the left have not led to tangible cultural victories. Instead, there has only been defeats. This needs to be analysed. But I have my suspicions. That's why I don't describe things not directly related as white or black or anything else. Race was fabricated by white people as a mechanism for oppression, therefore we shouldn't act to perpetuate its continued existence by relating everything to it.
Listening to #SCOTUS#mifepristone oral arguments on MSNBC. Alito's gonna Alito, and Barrett has been little better, but Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar, who just finished, responded to one of Barrett's questions with, "The premise of the question is wrong." YES.
A three-judge panel struck down a N.C. law that would let the GOP-controlled legislature decide elections. But the GOP is appealing that ruling, possibly to the GOP-controlled state Supreme Court. Republicans are fascists, full stop. https://www.newsobserver.com/opinion/article286627350.html
