Breaking IT news: #Microsoft just open-sourced MS-DOS 4.0. Versions 1.25 and 2.0 had already been open-source (MIT License) since 2018. If you’ve ever used DOS in the 1990s, you most likely were using v5.0 or v6.x. Those later versions likely won’t be released as open-source due to third-party restrictions.

Felt just a bit sad about this news. The #Z80 was the second microprocessor that I ever coded #assembly on after the Intel x86. I remember burning an EPROM with a Z80 program that controlled the brightness level of an LED in one of my early practical microprocessor exercises in college.

I hate that we in the #Philippines 🇵🇭 have inherited a car-centric mentality due to nearly 50 years as a colony of the United States. Having experienced the excellent public transportation of cities like Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Berlin, London, Milan, Amsterdam, and Madrid, I can only feel sadness because the transportation system in Manila is way behind our peer metropolises in Southeast Asia.

I learned that Disney+ recently started streaming Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour (which turned out to be a longer cut than the theatrical version) and decided to watch it to see what all the hype is about.
