@Pagan_Animist If it's an Intel-based Macbook Air, then no because macOS is probably looking at EOL for Intel sooner. Also, the butterfly keyboard is terrible. If it's an M1 Macbook Air, also no because, as I often say, never get a rev.1 motherboard from Apple. If you're very brave (I'm typing this on an i5 2019 Air) $700 is a great deal. Get as much RAM and as much storage as you can, though.
@StillIRise1963 Was the, "Mrs. Alito is too powerful to be controlled by a simple Supreme Court Justice" letter supposed to feed the narrative that the court is justified in controlling women's health?
@NanoRaptor And I had been enjoying this machine, but the power adapter crapped out and it’s either fixing the brick or finding 16.5 volts somewhere else. But where!
@StillIRise1963 So we get together while they're slurping their soup at the skilled nursing facilty and shout, "WHY DO SOME PEOPLE SAY YOU AREN'T KEEPING IT TOGETHER!" all at once.
Thank you all for the links to ticketing systems. I think about three were just what I could have used.
But making a start on implementing them also made me realise I'm probably looking at things way more complex than I needed - I remembered a previous job that was all chaos all the time and set up a personal file tags system that helped make sense of that chaos, and since the inside of my head is also chaos...
It's worked wonders! Yesterday and today I finished eleven backburner restos. Nice.
Rooftop solar is the future, but it's also a scam. It didn't have to be, but the US decided the best way to roll out distributed, resilient, renewable energy was to let Wall Street run the show. They turned it into a scam, and now it's in terrible trouble. which means we're in terrible trouble.

@Viss@thestrangelet@pluralistic That sounds like an absolute nightmare. What if you have the skills to build a system yourself? Do you still need to deal with these knuckleheads to get permits/grid tie?
@pluralistic Eleventy thousand years ago, I took my new 35mm camera out to the desert across the street from Walter Annenberg's estate while Reagan was partying there over the new year holiday to get some shots for the school newspaper. I didn't get hassled by Secret Service. I got hassled by the other photographers. Effing gatekeepers.
