Following the recent discussion around the Debian decision to ship KeePassXC without any of its optional modules, we've seen some extreme misconceptions floating around the internet regarding what the WITH_XC_NETWORKING=OFF compile flag actually does.

Let us be clear: KeePassXC does NOT "randomly" connect to the internet in the background, regardless of whether you build with the flag on or off. Claims to the contrary of KeePassXC "surfing in the background" or "calling home" are false.

A clean Git history is the key to successful teamwork and quick bug fixes. Errors can only be successfully tracked down if it is always possible to trace when and where code was changed by whom and for what reason.

🥴 However, in the rush of the battle, the changes that are packaged in a commit are sometimes not taken very seriously. Who has never experienced this? A change that is actually unrelated to the current work package has made it into the commit because the file has already been saved temporarily.

💡The solution: With an "interactive add" (git add -i), you can pack partial changes ("hunks") into a commit and specify line by line what should be included in the next commit.

Immer wieder gibt es ja "Trends", wo wir uns wundern, wieso sich die verbreiten und auf die stoßen wir entweder selbst auf Social Media Plattformen oder Medien berichten darüber, dass das gerade das neue Ding auf Social Media Plattformen ist.

Was dahinter steckt ist, dass "etwas trendet" in der heutigen Medienlandschaft was anderes ist und was anderes aussagt als "etwas ist ein Trend" früher. Das Problem wenn man das nicht weiß ist, dass man einen Fehlschluss zieht.

Alle paar Wochen gibt es auf Golem.de einen Artikel, der sich über neue russische und chinesische Chips schon fast lustig macht. "Technische Stand von vor 10 Jahren" und so.

So witzig finde ich das eigentlich gar nicht. Denn Russland und China bauen wenigstens eigene Chips, sammeln Erfahrungen, lernen dazu und werden vielleicht in den nächsten Jahren aufschließen. Und sind danach unabhängig.

Was ist mit uns? 🤷‍♂️

Gibt es eigentlich irgendwo Solarmodule mit maximal 30cm Breite aber einen vernünftigen Länge (gern bis maximal 1,7m)? Ich finde dazu gerade nix.

Hintergrund: Eine Befestigung an der Balkonbrüstung ist bei uns ja nicht machebar, ich könnte allerding 1-2 schmal Module AUF der Brüstung montieren.
