On the ICC warrants for Hamas & Israeli leaders, one line of protest is that “Hamas are autocrats but Bibi is democratically elected.” Um, so what? Whatever you think of Israeli voting choices, only leaders can be held responsible for giving the orders amounting to “Go ahead, slaughter the innocents.” I honestly don’t get it.

It’s nauseating that the hyperscalers are crankin’ the carbon to inflate the AI bubble like there’s no tomorrow (which there won’t be, for my children, if we don’t cut back) but hey, don’t forget that Bitcoin is still in the running for the single most dangerous-to-the-planet use of computers.

Yeah, I uninstalled Telegram a while back, and recommend doing so. I don’t think it could compromise my Android device but there’s good reason to think it might try.

It’s totally impossible to understand the & big picture without focusing on the settlers, who are stone racists, brutal hoodlums, and are standing squarely in the path of anyone trying to find a path to peace, saying “You shall not pass”.

The headline is “Israeli crowds chant racist slogans, taunt Palestinians during Jerusalem march” and the problem is that these particular crowds accurately represent the posture of Israel’s government.

Humming-butt. We are blessed in that our back porch is regularly visited by these cheeky little flying jewels. I have tried to photograph them for some years and failed. I have just finished improving the technology and it’s good enough now, but have still not captured one in flight or looking at me. Summer project!

Of geek interest: UUIDs have been around for a long time and they work well and interoperate fine, but the specification space is a mess. So the IETF just shipped RFC9562; it has a fine consideration of the history and the trade-offs involved in all the different flavors of UUIDs, and is well-written and I think, as of now, the place to start looking if something UUID-flavored is puzzling you. Strong work! https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc9562.html
