#haikuos is an awesome system I want to use, but it is tragically lagging behind others in its main target niche - the desktop. In my opinion, there are 3 fundamental pillars of a modern desktop system that need to function properly, before it can be "enjoyed" as a daily driver for the majority of users:

• DRM/KMS (or compatible) video driver framework
• USB Audio 2.0 support
• polished web browsing experience that “just works” out of the box (think youtube etc.)

These are just the basics.

Now that Putin expands his empire, we are much richer than Russia, technologically superior, and we have NATO.

Just found about some controversional #FLOSS journalist Bryan Lunduke, in relation to his statements to #HaikuOS. That was quite a read, for better of worse.

Then I listened to his bashing of #Ukraine in one of his last year podcasts. I must say the guy is clearly delusional at best, and simply evil at worst. The amount of blatant Russian propaganda there and not a single word of truth - just utter nonsense. Just posting here to keep an eye on him in future.

Tried upgrading Chimera Linux packages today, after not touching them for half a year. Went bad for whatever reason and now the distro is bricked. Oh well, guess I will have to go back to something more stable for now, until I am done bootstrapping my own distro.

You would not know how terribly broken and messy the whole #Linux ecosystem is, unless you start to craft your own unconventional distro from scratch. There are tons of crazy hardcoded assumptions, and devs not even considering alternative use cases. Hacking around that and debugging weird breakages is pure pain.
