"The trouble with fiction... is that it makes too much sense. Reality never makes sense."
The Genius and the Goddess, 1955

Aldous Leonard Huxley was born in 1894. He grew interested in philosophical mysticism as well as universalism, addressing these subjects in his works. In his most famous novel Brave New World & his final novel Island, he presented his visions of dystopia and utopia, respectively. via @wikipedia

I have seen several variations of this over the years, usually attributed to Hemingway. Thanks for the source.

Drives me nuts that most of my news still comes through twitter relays.

I wish Ukrainians and their supporters would realize musk is literally their opponent and get off twitter.

Musk wants to be the Putin of Mars.

And a lot of them haven't even tried other options.

Or, they have, but those options have so little traction that you never see them.

If the UAF only posted updates here on kbin, how many would see them?

I hate Twitter, never had an account, but your assertion is ridiculous.

Honestly, calling a possible asteroid impact "not as scary" as climate change achieves nothing.

Both are serious threats. One is possible, the other is definite.

Do you post like this on every science story that is not about your area of focus?

Thanks. I'll give it a try.

    • Tom Cruise (every film he has ever done)
    • Carl Weathers (Rocky 3)
    • Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump)
    • Sylvester Stallone (First four Rocky movies)
    • Wesley Snipes (US Marshalls)
    • Daniel Craig (Casino Royale, well the dude he was chasing)

Can I just say that I’m enjoying my current reread of Intervention by Julian May immensely.

It’s as good as I remember it being. I’ve read it 10s of times over the decades since it was published.

    Pons_Aelius,

Ah, The Remillards. Such a brilliant dysfunctional family, such a great read. Enjoy.
