One problem with leaving the birdsite is that I had built up a reasonable list of illustrators to follow there, and I really haven't here. But I bet they're around. If you're a #fantasy or #sciencefiction or #comedy#illustrator, especially if you're interested in commissions from an author, give this post a like so I can check out your work. Or recommend me someone in the comments. Or boost this so more people see it. Or just tell me what good hashtags I should be following. #illustration#sff
I'm on the last book of The Witcher series (The Lady of the Lake) and omg does chapter 8 feel endless. If the series had started like this, I never would have continued. It's all just battle with minor characters and once off characters who don't matter....
@Sumire@Stege Mega interessant, ja Aventurien geht bestimmt.
Another piece of Fen, with an entirely different and absolutely beautiful vibe This piece is by my dear friend and absolutely stellar artist Caraid. Her beautiful work speaks for itself. <3
@RanaldClouston@bookstodon Do you think a re-read of Priory would be essential or enhance the experience for this one? I have this on my TBR, but I read Priory pretty much immediately after it came out so only have very faint recollections.
@adityadubey@bookstodon I read in an interview with Samantha Shannon that the two books are designed to be read in either order, so I think going straight to Fallen Night would be fine.
Continuing my artwork posting of Itxi, here is another magnificent piece of him done recently by Komolord! I don't think this one has even been posted publicly yet, so this is a debut 👀
I'm absolutely in love with this slice of life depiction, and of course he is also just an absolute cutie. <3
Wow, alright, that took off! I'm very flattered that people are such a fan of Itxi! Please enjoy this first ever piece I commissioned of him from the incredible KhatMedic, back in 2018! Has it really been that long? ^^;
By the way, mastodon, Trip Galey's book 'A Market of Dreams and Destiny', is terrific! Have you ever read a book involving fairy bargains and goblin market and thought, 'yes, please, more of that please'? If so, this book is absolutely what you've been waiting for. Fairy bargains piled high and deep, plus labour unions, rhyming bells (lovely magical touch there) and a matchmaking talking cat.
Today's queer small press review! Treasures by K.L. Noone:
"A beautiful, magical tale full of love and joy to warm the heart, along with a sweet romance. The magical activity, with all the amazing gifts, is colorful and makes the little shop a wonderful fantasy world . Delightful."
If your recurring nightmare keeps bringing you back to the same spot ask yourself why. What is it about this place that draws your mind back time after time? Seek to change the performance, take a lucid step forward and ground yourself in the surroundings. Being a passenger on someone else's journey can only stifle your growth.
Space Wizard Science Fantasy is an indie publisher, and their 2nd year of existence kickstarter has a couple days left (not affiliated, but I backed year 1 and got emails, so I figured I'd post here.)...
