Folks, I'm starting my post-#PhD job search low-key on the side while I write up my #thesis.
I have an odd collection of skills - #Linux, #Python, #Jupyter, #pandas, #DevRel, and I've done a lot of work in team leadership and management, and have led a multi-million $ not for profit in the past. Keynote speaker.
I'm looking for something that harnesses all of these skills - and it will be a senior role with senior pay, given my experience, qualifications and proven capability. I have time and will be discerning about my next step.
Job titles that might fit here would be Senior Research Engineer, Engineering Lead, Lead AI Engineer or similar.

Proprietary tools that offer a lot for free, without fail, will squeeze you. And unfortunately, because of their nature, a lot gets left behind when you inevitably migrate.
When we select tools for our communities, we need to think over longer time horizons.
FOSS options like Matrix for chat and Discourse for forums are the better bet.

Have you been considering #DevRel (Developer Relations) as a career option? How can you try it out to see if it's a fit? It's not all about being on stages and flying around the world! I was in a chat with somebody and sent them a list of ideas and realized: I should listen to my own advice, and decided to publish them on the blog!
LLMs are incredibly useful in typed languages, e.g., generating structs from a JSON schema in #rust. Simple prompt, only a couple edits necessary. Also worked with sample JSON.
Now the hard part, getting(or helping) the engineering team to keep the JSON schema and samples up to date and consistent with the API!
Reading up on the #DevTernity debacle, where the conference organizers have used fake women in the speaker lineup to make it look more inclusive. People are rightly pissed off, but... ffs — the two top names fronting the lineup are racist uncle Bob and anti-"woke" DHH.
This is basically a Trump rally masquerading as a tech conference, but good to know fake women is where we draw the line for #DevRel. LMAO.
