Tango Gameworks Founder Responds To Xbox Shutting Down Studio
It's another tough period for the video game industry this week with Xbox announcing the immediate closure of four teams - including its Japanese studio Tango Gameworks, responsible for Hi-Fi RUSH and multiple other IP over the years.

Finished up the main story of Hi-Fi Rush today. Pretty fun rhythm beat-em-up with a saturday morning cartoon kinda story, great music, and cool artstyle. Solid 10ish hour game on hard mode for me.
Even on hard, other than the last phase of the last boss, the game felt pretty forgiving, even for someone not super deep in the genre.
Might go back for the extra post-game content later!
Mais quand même : "Spider-Man : Across the Spider-Verse" hein !
I know we've had cases like older GTA or NFS titles removing songs from the game in updates because the licenses ran out. I wonder if the same thing is going to happen to Hi-Fi RUSH eventually?...
Finished the first chapter of Hi-Fi Rush! It was fun to get my groove on for an hour. Made it to the hideout, petted a robokitty and upgraded. Good note to end the evening on.
Este juego me hace sentir que estoy jugando un juego de antaño, pero hecho en la actualidad, como cuando sientes que a un juego le ponen :gaming_heart:.
@boilingsteam I went to a park yesterday, set up a hammock, and played #HiFiRush for an hour or so on my #SteamDeck. It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
I'm not one for "New Year's resolutions", but I am one for overly ambitious projects.
For 2023, Project365 is "One New Game Per Day".
Given that I have 634 unplayed games in my Steam account and {mumble} unredeemed bundle Steam keys, there's a reason my unplayed collection is tagged "Pile of Shame".
I'll pin this to my profile, and give a brief summary here each day (or x, if I miss x days due to work or stuff).
I'll play 15-30 minutes of (at least) one new game I've never played before (or played less than 15 minutes of). I'll give every game at least 15 minutes, even if I hate every minute of it.
I'm also open to suggestions; if you reply to this thread with a game, I'll schedule it, or tell you what I thought of it.
One of the things that's come up is that I have a bunch of games that I've played once, and not touched again.

Hi-Fi RUSH was announced unexpectedly by Bethesda during the Xbox Developer Day on January 25th.
Apparently developed in parallel with Ghostwire: Tokyo (which I love, (5: Excellent)), and given my history with Bethesda games, given it was immediately available with Game Pass, installing it was a no-brainer.
I got stuck into it this morning, and it was every bit as fun as the rumours suggested. It's a third-person rhythm action game, in which your attacks are performed in sync with the music, and if you land the attack on the beat, you do bonus damage.
However, playing for more than 30 minutes, I suddenly encountered an unexpected 2D platform level, which yanked me out of the zone, and left me trying to time jumps just right, with the unexpected context switch.
I like the storyline so far, loving the music, and without that jarring context change, this would have been excellent. Time will tell if I can adjust to the platform levels, or if I need to play with a controller, but it's still a great game, and free if you have a Xbox Game Pass subscription.
Will Hi-Fi RUSH be unplayable with the original OST in few years due to music licensing?
I know we've had cases like older GTA or NFS titles removing songs from the game in updates because the licenses ran out. I wonder if the same thing is going to happen to Hi-Fi RUSH eventually?...
