Another urgent request from the Maasai of Tanzania to sign and/or SHARE the petition "Tanzania: Stop the eviction of the Maasai". It has been running since 2022 and initially seemed successful: https://secure.avaaz.org/campaign/en/maasai_evictions_sg_loc
Current appeal [slightly shortened]:
"In a matter of days, 27,000 Maasai could lose their ancestral land! Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan wants to clear the Maasai homeland for #safaris and trophy hunting in the hope of immense profits. Tanzania is enduring an extended rainy season caused by a strong El Niño event. This is a naturally occurring phenomenon whose intensity and frequency is increasing thanks to climate change. Tanzania is on the front line of climate change.

Hermann is an excellent #ethnobotanist. It pains me beyond words that people with profound environmental knowledge and miniscule carbon footprints suffer the most #ClimateJustice#ClimateINjustice

Many of our "leaders" have profited significantly.
These laws won't bring back the slaughtered people of #Tanzania, but it might find some future justice.
