@wellschmaltz cool article! Was going to pass it along, but just noticed it's #WaPo - are we still boycotting them or what? I haven't heard anything about the outcome of their workers walking out.
Please don't read or interact with the Washington Post today in anyway.
The Guild who represents the journalists that are on strike today, asked that readers stand in solidarity with WaPo's staff & not cross the digital picket line.
When I was in eighth grade, my biology teacher told us "you can build muscle until the day you die." I've always remembered that.
The Washington Post felt like confirming that today:
"The new study of resistance exercise and the elderly found that even people in their 80s and 90s — who had never lifted weights before — showed significant gains"
WTF This #WaPo#opinion piece. Apparently, young men are leaning more and more to the right because of the manosphere incels and that is causing them not to get married. While we spend a second being SHOCKED by the fact that liberal women do not like men that believe they should have less rights over their own bodies, allow me to offend your eyes with a quote from the article:
"This mismatch means that someone will need to compromise"
“Stepping back, if the Times and other major news outlets went through any critical self-reflection after the 2016 election, it doesn’t seem to have affected their coverage. Nor did the leadership of the Times publicly acknowledge any failings. Quite to the contrary…”
A disturbing report on #wapo on #Antisemitism on the hell site and other social media, tho no surprise if you've been paying attention. Yet once again liked most media coverage it hardly notices #Islamophobia and didn't even mention #anti-Palestinian or #Anti-Arab hatred.
By ignoring extremism and bigotry directed towards or about Arabs, the media is distorting the danger we face in this time of growing crisis. We need to do better to protect everyone.
The @washingtonpost has an article titled, "Our best advice for Thanksgiving travel". It's silly. Flying advice is mostly "extend your vacation by days before and after, so you can fly during less-busy times." This is both obvious and impractical. Can everyone really add 3-4 days to their break because they want to? Kids miss extra school?
It's mostly that obvious: "Be prepared for ... delays"? Seriously?
"Donald #Trump has vowed, repeatedly, to weaponize state power against his political enemies if granted a second term.
Voters should take him at his word, for two reasons: First, he tried to do this before, marshaling government might against individuals, demographic groups & specific businesses. He was constrained only by courts & uncooperative aides. Second, he’s assembling the infrastructure necessary to clear these obstacles next time." https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2023/11/13/trump-threaten-punish-enemies-president/
