This is Gu, who is from a shelter in New Mexico and is around 5 years old. He is a dog therapist, and has a caseload of 10ish dogs who come over to hang out because he calms them down. He has logged thousands of miles on trails, and has played long games of tag with ravens, squirrels, and coyotes. The birds never noticed the suet cakes in the 2-sided suet cage so, inspired by a cat owner who groomed his cat then stuffed his suet cage with floof, I did the same with dog fur when I groomed my dogs, big dog's short undercoat on one side, little dog's long undercoat on the other. The birds ignored it till March, then emptied it overnight. I could see the fur sticking out of the birdhouses till they tidied up.
