Meanwhile in Ireland, you can get your first dose of the Covid vaccine at age 12 and, in just 68 years, you can get your first booster.

Because that’s cool and normal.

Firmness in decision is often merely a form of stupidity. It indicates an inability to think the same thing out twice.

Based on the trajectory of climate change, there will be increasingly larger numbers of people moving from the Sahel, the middle-east, Southeast Asia, and Central America

@Geri No. they are just practicing.

As an aside, we saw it with Brexit. 2 employees and a partner of another were given ‘notices to quit’ (the U.K.). Following expense on our part, the HO admitted it had been a mistake (my arse).

Subsequently more than half the people who worked for us (we are employee owned) have moved to the EU. We are now formally based in Germany. All those taxes lost to the U.K.

No mistakes, just nasty nasty nasty and stupid.

Joyce Vance reprises things Republicans said this year, and sums them up:

"A lot of what we heard from the Republican party this year was just plain stupid. And mean."

She adds,

"There’s the persistent hate of those who are different, the need to make life even more difficult for those who are already struggling enough as it is without being denied health care."

As Michael Tomasky says today, some of us console ourselves that the fascism of Trump and his followers is stupid. And while may be true that smart fascism can be more destructive than dumb fascism, the latter can still do a lot of damage. Witness the folks handling the faux impeachment of Biden right now.
