People who complain about wild singing so hard in the morning - are not my friends. I'm DELIGHTED about early morning bird songs!

Their bird calls YellTell me - We are happy in our habitat here! It's another day we are alive!

Their early morning bird songs, remind me of the importance of feeling of being able to enjoy another morning, another day, to relish in the fact I'm still alive & able to receive many opportunities that the dead no longer have.

Hydroponic basil started. Bought a $3.25 basil bouquet at Trader Joe's, and split out the plants... probably a dozen usable plants if you are careful, and you can also clone them from clippings... depending on how much pesto you need

So, I know I keep saying that I'll drop out of the U.S. campus anti-Joe Biden protest movement debate. I jumped in since I worry so much about our climate crisis that anything that might help out the GOP is something to worry about.

I've seen now how small the anti-Biden movement actually is despite how loud they are I'm not so worried except that since I monitor what motivates voters in the USA the true tiny size of this crowd may belie their political danger.

As a non Zionist Jew I can say left wing antisemitism is on the rise because I am cued to those sort of comments and statements. Right wing antisemitism ahs stayed about the same.

I appreciate what these students are doing but it doesn't negate things being said elsewhere.

Q2. What do you recommend for utility trailers? What's best for light-duty?
What's best for heavy-duty (>150lb, for carrying @scottsthoughts's bartending gear (coolers, ice, folding tables, etc)?
How do they attach to your cycle?

Moved into a new house last fall. The yard was fine, but mostly neglected. The sprinkler system had broken at least 5 years prior and was never fixed. Infrequently mowed.

Every now and then I hear conversations from outside of here about "the state of social media" and let me tell you: People are suffering. People are miserable. Many people feel addicted to social media but unable to have positive and valuable interactions in the space. Mostly, in the profit-driven social media space negative emotional reactions glue eyeballs as well as positive, so a heap of the experiences is just ... unpleasant.

Meanwhile around here things are different.

Look, assuming season 5 is 10 episodes, that means the whole show is 50 episodes. That's not even two seasons of , and it's not even one season of TNG in terms of runtime.

I'm not saying CBS had no cause to cancel the show, though if I'm being honest it, is just a cynical corporate move meant to ensure profit margins aren't hurt at the expense of all the stuff that anyone who isn't a shareholder actually wants.

I'm saying that is following an unsustainable model

@forgottrek I'm going to take different position as someone who grew up with TNG. Shorter seasons are ok. The 25 ep season was an artifact of broadcast television with very specific programming requirements.

Also TNG, and to a lesser degree, DS9, ENT, and VOY, were serial shows with often no overarching story season to season. So you get very random episodes and oftwn thenprior episode has no impact on the following one. 1/

Boy, my 12 year old great-nephew just made me feel totally inadequate.

Apparently he listens to podcasts while simultaneously reading technical books on totally different topics. His father (my nephew) has given him tests and his comprehension of both cast and text are excellent.

As a drawback, he does suffer from severe ADHD. His mental world is like he is surrounded by falling scraps of book pages, and he has to read each one before they hit the ground.
