Open source raspberry pi based sprinkler controller is running. I still have to print a housing to mount it. Right now, it's hanging from the cable running out to the solenoids in our under stair closet. No AI, no cloud service selling my data. It's wonderful so far.

The middle position of the kitchen faucet lever didn’t turn it off. One had to hunt to turn it fully off. The only place that had a 1-5/16” socket in stock was the Napa warehouse in Commerce City. I also managed to drop the old cartridge and it exploded, thus revealing the failure. Where there should have been a plastic ring around the base of the lever, some of it had turned to white gooey mush. The movement of the ceramic plate against the metal base was interesting. They glide like on ice.

And yes, I had to use a 3/8” plus a 1/4” adapter, as my 1/4” drive torque wrench is the only one that goes low enough.

Ha ha! I’m so used to having to hint for the turn off point. It was also nice to be able to better clean gunk from between spaces on this.

btw, if you’ve ever had to deal with play in a manual transmission shifter, it’s likely the same problem- worn out bushing.

My knee continues to be completely fucked and the physio only accepts phone calls to book, so I'm going to have to wait until at least Friday to book because I'm not working then so I can afford to lose a load of the day to recovering from making a phone call.

I guess its compression, rest and anti-inflammatories in the meantime but I miss already, and actually running is the only time it doesn't hurt.

@alexisbushnell I'm the wrong person to listen to, but my somewhat unrelated experience is that ice and/or stretching may help. Years ago my knees complained during a training camp in the mountains. I had to sit out the rest of the bike rides and back home a doctor diagnosed PKS. I reached out to about their code assistant.

They verified:

  1. They use , which means my GitHub OSS has almost certainly been used in training data.
  2. They rely on OpenAI's promise to not ingest any code that is used for "context".
  3. They specifically do not disclaim that their tool could result in me violating someone else's copyright, and they could suggest the same code to someone else, too.

Uninstall this crap, now. It's dangerous and irresponsible

In addition to avoiding all but two rain drops while grilling burgers tonight, I also made an amazing salad. Mixed greens, spinach, tomato, blueberries, walnuts in pieces and micro-planed (looked like grated parmesan), and red onion. With a honey mustard vinaigrette. Sorry, no pictures, it was too yummy to stop for photos.

The occupation of Siemens Hall was established after a violent clash with campus and local police in Monday night.
