When it was formed, it was the abolitionist party. That's why Republicans will insist they're "The party of Lincoln." Over the next century the parties adjusted platforms. Eventually, you hit the Republican Southern Strategy where they started actively campaigning to get the votes of racist southerners.

But yeah, that's all so far in the past, even the younger baby boomers wouldn't be able to properly remember it.

The Norwegian Parliament passed a law today that bans "conversion therapy" for LGBT people. The penalty is up to 6 years in prison. It passed with 85 against 15 votes.

I've been thinking about gamifying the process of making new friends in my city. Kind of like a but your character is just yourself, and you earn points for showing up to small group events. Extra points for helping organize gatherings and coming up with creative ideas for people to get to know each other better.

...I've been thinking about this for over a year, maybe someday I'll have enough energy to actually start it.

Seeing this, I think about a three point victory card. Do you need to pass the Duchy because the supply pile is too far from the end of the table your opponent is sitting at? Or did an opponent play a Masquerade and the rest of your cards are more valuable?

Outside the office at one of my previous jobs, there was a small nature path with a footbridge to a small island in the middle of the river. All sorts of debris would collect at the bottom of the bridge. During summer, I would take walks on my breaks just to watch the turtles sunning themselves on the various logs and planks that piled up there.

I do miss that.

Brains are fucking stupid. Finally coming out of some really sudden and really dark depression. The last three days were incredibly hard and I'm not sure I could tell you anything about much of Thursday or Friday, except they were a deep dark hole. And if history is a guide this won't be the last episode between now and April.

Shout out to antidepressants, therapy, future trips, friends, and my amazing husband for getting me through it 🙏

Seasonal is real, you're not alone.

I was at a work training about dealing with rejection. Research shows when people are rejected pain centers of the brain are activated; and modern society causes this to happen regularly.

I thought, this is incredible. They've revealed we're being whipped, and the response is to teach us how to stop our whip sores from getting infected.

Hi. Can I have a word?

When you use a could you capitalise each word please? That way, people using screen readers will hear each individual word, which means they'll get more useful context as a result.

When you don't capitalise hashtags the words string together and make no sense.

For example would read as "This Is How" while would sound something like "thissy show". A small change for you but a game changer for many people.

Be nice; get good karma. Thanks.

Yeah, this really annoys me. I've been going out of my way to camel case my tags, and I can't make use of the autocomplete. Especially annoying on Mobile.
