Resist the dopamine trap of simply seeking reposts of the latest examples of climate emergencies and studies confirming just how bad things are.

We all get it now. We know the prognosis.

Now it is time to focus on the change part of the hashtag.

How do we change? How are we being changed?

It is time to shift focus to discussing our lived, shared experiences preparing and adapting for the near future.

Revelations following conversations with extended family over Christmas.

None of them (n=13) have a grasp of the magnitude of the #climateEmergency.
All of them believe technology will solve any problems as they arise.

5 of them consider my position alarmist and doomerist.

10 of them did not want to engage in any arguments/conversations to explore this topic.

5 are now at the Xmas sales buying more landfill.

I would definitely say #mastodon has been the biggest wake-up call for me in appreciating the existential threat of #climateChange and #overshoot and nudging me to begin incremental steps in changing my lifestyle PRN ( medical term indicating ‘as necessary).

Heve tried using spiky things and sealing every possible entrance I can think of. I have tried using eucalyptus oil and camphor to repel them, but no luck. And they are urinating all over my car every night.
