Okay, the issue IS apparently related to the noises I mentioned earlier on: a noise described as "chattering" on the Atlas V's upper stage coming from an oxygen relief valve.

In San Antonio, waiting for the eclipse and the cloud cover is pretty terrible. How is it wherever you are??

Morning!! I'm following the OSIRIS-REx sample return mission -- the sample container is scheduled to touch down in Utah at 10:55 am ET/8:55 am MT. So far everything has gone smoothly.

The sample return container separated from the spacecraft a couple of hours ago. The larger spacecraft has a new mission now, called OSIRIS-APEX and is journeying on to study the asteroid Apophis.

Mars Ingenuity was designed to make 5 short flights over 30 days. Instead it made 72 flights over three years on the red planet. Now it's time to say goodbye to the little helicopter that could.

It's so funny how much space on all these social networks is taken up by people dunking on other social networks.

I’m getting SO MANY questions on whether we will see the aurora tonight. The honest answer: I don’t know!! Last night’s activity was really low, but there are several CMEs that will likely hit Earth tonight, so there’s a better chance.

That being said, the level of activity that brought about the aurora as far south as FL/TX/Mexico is higher (G5) than what’s predicted (G4). (1/2)
