If the thermostat in your Hilton looks like this and doesn’t do jack shit, it’s because it’s configured to only run when its extremely faulty presence sensor detects you doing light aerobics in your room - it’s easy to fix though!
Remove the cover screw with a Philips head
Hit the CONFIG button and switch modes with the F/C button until you hit something like “E-5” which is Bullshit Mode
Flip it down to E-0 to disable the presence sensor
Hit on/off to save then turn it back on!

The reason unsubscribing from a list may "take 7-10 business days to process" is the systems that cause those emails to be barfed out are just batch jobs somebody slapped together in 2002 where one day's batch is "get all the emails for the week from the Big Database" and then schedules the "Actually Send The Emails" batch jobs without checking the Big Database again

breaking in my new boots at Tulsa’s new The Gathering Place, which is, not to mince words, fucking amazing - it feels like nothing else I’ve ever experienced in a city park, characterized by incredible little pockets of activity areas, intense attention to design, and the plantings are all native but there’s no braggadocio about it - they just all are, no noisy plaques, letting their success speak for themselves. It is very, very, very good
