What is the term for that type of inertia where you can't get anything else done in a given day because you have one time-specific thing on your calendar so you end up waiting until you do that one thing?
I know there are words for it. I just can't remember them.
@arisummerland I've always heard it as "wait mode". Typically specified with a qualifier to help NTs understand it's an ND thing, like "ADHD wait mode", "autistic wait mode", or "ND wait mode".
After doing exhausting research on crypto for about 20 minutes and losing interest to cat videos I can say confidently stay away from it … #cypto#adhd#nfts#interwebs#web3#advice
I mostly recharged this weekend. I opted to work at home today. No meetings afforded me to catch up on a few tasks and chores, too. It was sublime.
Son arrived home covered in clay from the baseball diamond at school. Under protest he stripped to underwear and was sent to shower. Clothes and shoes are being de-clayed.
Now he’s finishing schoolwork not completed this PM. He did pick up on the “it’s not time to talk back” vibe. So yay.
“AuDHD represents a blend of ADHD and autistic traits, leading to unique experiences and challenges. When the underlying needs of ADHD and autism interact, it can feel like a tug of war for the AuDHDer - Do I need routine or spontaneity? Newness or familiarity? Busyness or a steady pace? Though these examples are quite simplistic, they illustrate the internal confusion of the AuDHDer attempting to address their needs.”
It’s kind of ironic when you are watching short videos about untreated ADHD and space out thinking about other things and miss most of the video because you have under-medicated ADHD lol
Trying something new. The #ADHD neurologist (has it and it's her specialty) I follow on IG says that if you want to do stuff, don't sit down because transitions are hard. So, after walkies, I went straight to my sewing room. I find this hilarious. This is now known as sneaking up on my brain😂
@kcarruthers I asked one of my yoga teacher program teachers, who is ADHD, how to do my practice every day (it went from a hyperfixation to daily chore when it became homework) how to do my homework practice every day and she told me to lie in bed and watch the video. Most times, you will find yourself doing by the end. Again, trick the brain.😂
@julie if you don't like VTT, then don't use one: would your party be OK with theater of the mind? Or can you do a digital whiteboard, or use ASCII art instead?
Just because your the DM doesn't mean you shouldn't also be having fun.
