When Grab PH bought motorcycle taxi app Move It, I thought I would become a 1st-time customer of that service. I use Grab, so it already has my info. I wouldn't need to sign up and type all my details. How convenient.
But Move It wasn't integrated into the Grab app. Instead, I would have to download a new app.
That's true, and its because the motorcycles are under the Grab brand, while in PHL, it's a different brand.
I only tried motorcycles taxis in Indonesia, because I was advised that's the best way to get around, though I think the Jakarta BRT is awesome if it happens to be close to your origin/destination
Also, because I don't want to register/install another app 😆, just like @jikodesu

Checking out the listed web / desktop #apps for #Mastodon most of them are really underwhelming. They even fail to describe on why one should use them. I didn't find a single desktop app which was worth installing, just from the information provided on their webpage. Multiaccount usage is irrelevant to me, for now.
With the #webapps I am now briefly trying out #phanpy#tooty#statuzer#trunksapp#elk and #mastodeck

#Notification#apps: Early #messengers walked with a bell through villages and towns. We still have this bell symbol on Mastodon!
People used this technology especially before the beer was brewed. Their voice system intoned aloud: It is announced that from tomorrow morning onwards, no one will be allowed to shit in the stream where the honourable Council brews beer the day after tomorrow.
«on point» super minimaler Home-Bildschirm einrichten
App developers: if you use notifications very sparingly, for things that I actually care about, I'll leave them turned on and even appreciate them.
But if you abuse notifications and hit me with too many, I'll block notifications from your app. Globally. All of them. And then I'll forget about it, and never revisit that decision.
Once you hit that point, it's too late. You ain't coming back.
Think about it before you decide to do notifications.

Really impressed with how far AnyType has come in the last year. As I predicted in my article from the Alpha version, it didn't take long at all for this app to match Notion for everything I needed to organize important aspects of my life.
It still has a bit of a learning curve and some sticky areas, but it's fully functional, secure, and streamlined enough to pick up with just a few hours of practice setting up a course schedule for my classes in the Summer/Fall.
@sharan That is one of the biggest flaws of a LOT of really cool software. The UX is so often TERRIBLE from a non-techie perspective (or even a techie one, lol). Anytype's actually improved since their alpha version, so I'm hoping they keep headed in that direction. More accessibility, fewer bugs, clearer language, and a better introductory tutorial.
In short, what the "1 GB limit" actually is, is just this: You can transfer unlimited data between your devices while they are on the same network. If you wanted to have live syncing away from home, you'd need one of the following:
A paid plan.
A self-hosted "node" (a transfer point linked to the Internet where the data can be transferred through).
A VPN like Nord with something called "Meshnet" which makes your devices think they're all on the same network.
Now, if only Anytype's PR people would actually hire me, I could explain all of this to everyone, lol.
I've been an open source advocate for a long time, and use it daily. One of my favourite GNOME apps is Paper (https://flathub.org/apps/io.posidon.Paper) however the author no longer has time to support it and it is in desperate need of updating.
The Kickstarter for Project Tapestry is nearing its end — 50 hours to go — and it’s approaching its first stretch goal. It’s going to be a very cool app, but it’ll be even cooler if we hit that goal! Please take a look and consider supporting this one if you haven’t already.
