This is a video from the ChP_Kavkaz telegram channel purportedly showing a sort of preemptive police raid in Dagestan - in majority 'Muslim areas of Russia’s north Caucasus mobs raid hotels looking for Jews after rumors spread that some Israelis had moved there to flee the war. This video is from Dagestan, but similar incidents happened in Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessia.'

@LALegault@fulelo Yes, the wide majority of israelis oppose and want to depose Netanyahu, and do not need you to speak for them about things you clearly do not understand. But to blame global antisemitism and violent threats on one person is dishonest and said only for cheap effect. I suppose in your view the rise in antisemitism and public displays by neo-Nazi groups in Canada can also be laid at Netanyahu’s feet.
If Netanyahu was not comitting a live genocide on television for 3 weeks & talking about “children of light and children of darkness” he would not be pouring gasoline on a fire.
As for antisemitism in Canada, I have been one of the loudest opponents (when I had a large platform on twitter, anyone can attest to that, my opposition to Conservative politicians in Canada is what got me banned).
Antisemitism is always under the surface, Netanyahu’s recklessness let it out.

If someone else chooses to engage in violence against me because of what some schmuck on the other side of the world did or said, they'd better be prepared to take responsibility for their own actions.
For the same reason, Palestinians anywhere bear no responsibility for the violence Hamas thugs do in their name.
I wish that were true. People are having a very difficult time separating Netanyhu from all Jewish people and there is a rise in antisemitic crimes, globally as there is a rise in hate crimes motivated by Islamaphobia. They are up 113% in Canada in the last 3 weeks.

Earlier in another of the North Caucasus republics (with majority Muslim population) we saw a crowd surrounding a hotel, again 'looking for Jews; as well as a rally in another regional capital where they demanded the 'expulsion of Jews' - all these republics are parts of the Russian Federation
@dukepaaron no worries - and tbh online pieces tend to have most searchable terms in them - so Israel is a likelier hit - as in 'but I haven't written the headline' - it is a constant cause for discussion, usually

@thepoliticalcat i understand most of them were Russian citizens, coming home from Israel. I could hear a woman on the bus saying she took a large group of children tor treatment to Israel. again no confirmation but i understand the passengers are safe, and they might simply be residents of the Northern Caucasus or in the wider region... but again plenty of info still missing...
