A cool thing about living in an entirely new place: it is just fine to take one’s time, to observe and learn the culture. In fact, it would be rude and arrogant to just assume that one already knows what one needs to know. The bonus is that it is relaxing to let oneself observe without feeling an immediate obligation to DO.

I was mocked yesterday for some decisions I’m making & I’d like feedback—not to feel better, but your honest feedback, but from kindred activists.

  1. Not supporting my partner’s wanting to buy a used Tesla bc of hatred of musk. And I’m told all car business (Honda, GM etc) is dirty. And the advantage to electric outweighs Musk’s obnoxious place in this world.
  2. Not wanting to travel to Fla and Tx because I don’t support their governors/politics.
    I feel empowered and ridiculous. Feedback?💙

(And some of it is propaganda⚠️)

If you’re privileged to not be in the line of fire, take a breath. Notice the buds. 🌻 Listen to the birds. 🦅 Or music. 🎶 Or bathe in poetry.

Choose wisely what you attend to. That’s what grows. 📈

Ideas:

  1. Turn off notifications, especially on those who rage
  2. Take social media apps off your phone
  3. Read more to access critical thinking (rather than tv, which can be ranty)
  4. Set a timer on your apps. Find where you become anxious or numb & (obv) set it before then
  5. Don’t take your phone to meals
  6. Before bed, silence the fucker & create a calming ritual. Use your imagination
  7. If news is first thing in the am, add gratitude & intention before you start your day💙
  8. Nature Heals

Hi from Sacramento!

On our way to Medford, OR Margaritaville today. Tomorrow Washington, then Canada.

We beeline it from stop to stop, so no thank you on your suggestions on where to go/stop. This isn’t a vacay, this is what we do on our “commute” to BC: Drive for 8-9 hours, sleep, drive for another 8-9, etc.

Can someone help me understand how values no business (safety) regulations when they also know this will harm their children & grandchildren? Food, water, air, medicine, beauty products, automobiles, airplanes, data, etc?

6 composite photos of Dick Van Dyke (& me, my class) in black box theater of public perform. arts high school where I taught/directed Comedy class/shows. Dick wanted to see us in action, loved it, asked me to write/direct his annual theater prod. to "make it funnier."

I couldn't believe Dick Van Dyke asked ME to make HIM funnier. Did it for 2 yrs, finally had to quit due to time conflicts.

He visited us, played w/ us, had a ball! I'm the redhead in blue jeans. Here we go!

Blast from the past.

We’re slowly cleaning out our garage for our eventual move to Canada next spring and I ran across this pic of my twins (& their friend) with Jessie Biel on the set of Seventh Heaven. She hung out with them for a really, really long time, couldn’t have been nicer.

We ended up being asked to leave bc we were told that the youngest cast member, Mackenzie Rosman, got way too hyper from being around us (we were “too much fun”).
