I’m watching #3bodyproblem and reading EE Doc Smith’s Skylark at the same time. And the similarities are striking, even if the timescales are a less realistic in the century old books. #scifi#bookstodon@bookstodon
Who has watched the Three Body Problem on Netflix? I think I'm going to start it this weekend. I was extremely skeptical about it because of how badly the producers screwed up Game of Thrones, but heard it's good. Probably because they didn't have to write any original content 😂 I tried the Chinese version, and it's great, but I had a really hard time keeping up with the subtitles. #ThreeBodyProblem#SciFi
This isn't a novel, but there's a kids picture book called "We Are All Me" by Jordon Crane that explains this in simple poetry at a level that understandable to both children and adults.
@FullyAutomatedRPG Great, thank you! I take anything. I like the point about the interconnectedness of all life.
I'm a little surprised that the idea hasn't been worked on umpteen times in art.
You technically do not need more than one part library.
But practically if the single library has a gazillion parts, it will take a long time to find the parts you need. At some point it will take a shorter time to make the part from scratch, which kind of defeats the purpose.
INPUT: I'm an arts + humanities nerd with one foot squarely in the junk drawer: #SciFi, #fantasy, #CultFilm, horror, anime, video games, #punk. I ride with Nabokov and Tolkien and Marshall McLuhan and Evangelion and Stephen King.

Describe a week in American politic - Stormy Daniels's testimony, dead worm ate my brain, and shoot the puppy and goat affirmation. Hopefully, they appreciate absurdist theatre in the form of performance art. :bl46:
